Omegafriends Background: Viktor's family moved to America from Russia when he was in his late teens, in the late 90s. He finished his education at the Venture Technical Institute, studying robotics and cybernetics. He went on to pursue his masters, becoming part of a team that designed one of the world's first artificial intelligences. However, when the project was unveiled to the public, one of the older and more experienced members of the project was able to use connections and clever publicity to take all the credit for Viktor's research.
Viktor's demands for justice and appeal fell on deaf ears, and he sunk into a black depression. He secluded himself from the world, spending endless hours working in his laboratory. He would create something that NO ONE could take the credit for.
After years of hiding from the scientific community (and indeed the world at large), Viktor made an emergence that took the world by storm. Calling himself "The Machine Herald", Viktor now sported various cybernetic upgrades to his own body, including a third arm sprouting from his back that moved just as naturally as his human arms. His self augmentation had drastically increased the rate of his research and development, creating technological marvels that many scientists could not begin to understand.
He preached of the coming of the Glorious Evolution, in which all of humanity would cast aside their fragile, failing flesh in favor of reliable, efficient robotic replacements. A world with no wars where no one would get sick or hungry.
He did not get the eager crowds of volunteers he had hoped for. A few desperate types who wanted power, but no one else. Disappointed, but undeterred, Viktor has started planning some...demonstrations of the weakness of human flesh.
Personality: Viktor always had a tenuous grasp on sanity, even when he was merely human. Now, with his mind warped by repeated experiments on his own flesh, he has lost touch with reality. He sees in his mind a glorious future of steel and chrome, where there is no suffering and everyone is happy. But between him and that vision of light is a bunch of people who want to condemn the world to darkness and the suffering of the flesh simply because they don't want him to kidnap them and replace their eyes with infrared telescopes. He is eternally frustrated by how blind all these fools are.
Powers: Fueled by his technological genius and cybernetic enhancements, Viktor can generally come up with an invention to suit his needs if he has the time. That said he has a few specific toys he keeps with him:
- His third arm has a death ray built into the palm
- His Gravity Field increases the weight of anything within it.
- His power transfer device drains the energy of anyone it attaches to, fueling a forcefield for Viktor
- But his ultimate invention is the chaos storm. Normally held within the singularity at the tip of his staff, when unleashed the Chaos storm rains destruction down around it.
Additionally, Viktor has some henchmen. People who actually HAVE submitted to the glorious evolution, and have been upgraded into cyborgs.
